Answers:
The recent recalls are due to lax standards and cheap production!. Lead-based paints are cheaper, so unscrupulous factories competing for business on price or looking for an advantage, might slip in using such paint in bulk to turn a greater profit!. Or, in the recent melamine scandals, some companies discovered that they could water down the product, getting the same money for artifically inflated volume, and hide it by adding melamine to fool the protein tests the buying companies would do to check on quality!. I am absolutely boggled that people would do this AGAIN after seeing the consequences the first time; it's not like this goes undiscovered, as it makes people -- or pets -- very sick!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The Chinese are no different than any other group!. Mass manufacturing is very difficult and there is tremendous pressure to make more, cheaper!. This pressure brings out the worst in people and organizations!.

That is why there MUST be government regulation in place to protect the public from companies and to protect companies from themselves!.

The US has removed much of it's regulation on products and industry over the last 30 years and we had similar problems!. Right now the banking crisis is a direct result of lack of government (taxpayer) oversight!.

It's just human nature and greed!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

From what I have read and seen on the news they do use the product intentionally!. It is a quick substitute so they can make more items at a cheaper price!.

It's really sad, all those poor babies sick in China from the baby food and they knew about the complaints over a year ago!.

I am sure there are a lot of practices going around worldwide that we are not aware of that could harm our health!.
