Anxiety, shortness of breath and throat clearing after smoking?!

Question: Anxiety, shortness of breath and throat clearing after smoking!?
I quit smoking about 1!.5 weeks ago AGAIN after 1!.5!. years!. The last time I quit for 4 yrs and started again!. I don't recall the last time around being this difficult!. While I had worse cravings the last time around for some reason this time I totally feel lightheaded, short of breath, anxious and I keep clearing my throat!. I went to the doc and she said my lungs sound good, BP was Ok, etc!.!.!.!. She said she thinks my lungs are healing!. She did give me an inhaler!. She wants me to come back in a week for a chest xray and spirometry test just to be on the safe side!. I'm 38 and have smoked off on and since about age 18!. Has anyone else been unable to breathe since they quit!? I don't even want a cigarette but I honestly cannot get a deep breath! It's very frustrating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
CUGGLE, Anxiety, as you probably know, can do the weirdest things to your body!. If the xanax helps, it might just be anxiety related!. But I'm really glad you have a thorough doctor!. The spirometry test will tell them a lot!.
No being able to get a deep breath is a real bummer, for lack of a better word!. It sounds like you're in good hands!.
Bless you and good luck! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

well you have been smoking for a while, it takes 8 years for your lungs to completely heal(I heard from some one)!. I suffered from shortness of breath ,and sometimes i feel some heart pain!. I think after a month you should feel normal just don't go back!. in a month you should be feeling better!. relax , give it some time, eat healthy, drink lots of water and take some multivitamins, maybe ask the doctors for some anti anxiety medication , there is a supplement you can take called L-theanine, it should help with anxiety Www@Answer-Health@Com

The anxiety you are feeling is completely normal!. Symptoms of nicotine withdrawal include:

Insomnia
Mental confusion
Irritability
Anxiety
Depression

Anxiety is perhaps the most commonly reported symptom!. Anxiety has a vast array of symptoms, among those are breathing disturbances such as shortness of breath!.

Your shortness of breath is not due to the fact that you need a cigarette, so do not venture down that route again!. Instead, learn some relaxation methods that can be found online, or just look at someone with lung cancer!. Nasty stuff!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Brisk walking for about one kilometer each way is the only best solution for having good breath!.

Otherwise start learning Pranayama (Yoga), which is slightly difficult and you have to get a good Yoga Teacher too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The day you quit smoking your body starts healing!. You have prob damaged your lungs with tar!.!.!.I couldnt even clean the tar off my ex b/f's ashtray it wouldnt come off!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah I had that still do cause I started again!. Nothing was found in my lungs, how it was explained to me was that smoking wounds your lungs so what happens when you have a wound!? It swells up!. Your lungs are probably trying to heal themselves right now and are a little swollen!. But definitely get a chest xray just to be sure!. As anxiety goes I have that too, learn to control it!. Or there is another thing out there they can treat your anxiety as long as it's not a chemical dis balance in your brain with light therapy!. Basically they flash a bunch of lights in your eyes (you stare at them for a while) those lights hit the nerves that are responsible to keep you happy and makes them work properly!. I know a person that did it and she says it worked wonders!. I will be doing it soon too!. I have heard a lot of good feedback about that!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.

But there are natural ways to do it without medication!. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac!. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings!. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac!. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc!.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced!.!.!. you have that "learned behavior" in your mind!. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to!.!.!.!.
