What are the consequences of donating blood more often than every 56 days?!

Question: What are the consequences of donating blood more often than every 56 days!?
I donated blood on October 1st!. The local swim team is having a blood drive fundraiser on the 18th and I'd like to donate!. What is the worst that could happen!? Also is there anything I can eat or do to help my body recover from the last donation faster!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I would call the blood bank just to make sure!. You are supposed to wait 56 days to give your body time to replace all of the red blood cells, platlets, and other components of blood that are removed when you donate!. The water volume is replaced within about 24-48 hours, but it takes your body longer to manufacture these other components!.

Follow the American Red Cross guidelines for how frequently any one can donate blood!. My brother didn't know he was supposed to wait, and donated blood two weeks in a row!. He was very weak, pale, and unhealthy all winter long!. Takes a long time for the body to replace donated blood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What are you trying to say!.!.!.!.!.!.!.blood donation becoming an addiction!?
You just go for satisfaction and check with the nurse and tell her you just donated blood on 1st Oct 2008 and see what she say to you!.

Everything you do is good but will turn BAD when excessive!. Same as food, computer games/work, fun, love!.!.!.!.etc!. etc!. etc!.

Put a control button on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you can become anemic!.

i wouldnt suggest you do it!. your body cannot recover from losing that much blood in just over two weeks!.

wait a few months and donate then!. you can donate once every 3 months!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
