How to deal with a dislocated knee?!

Question: How to deal with a dislocated knee!?
Yesterday (no joke), I got injured for the first time in my life!.

I was in my gym class (it's co-ed) playing flag football!. I was on defense running to pull some guy's flags!. I pull them and all of a sudden some other guy dives through the air right in front of me trying to get the guy's flags as well!. So I get knocked down, my right leg completely twists in and boom I knew this was something bad!.

My teacher comes over, is looking at it and my knee had popped out!. and all of a sudden it goes back in!. So he helps me up and I'm limping over off the field and it's like impossible for me to walk lol but then it pops back out!!!!! So I SCREAMED and fell on my butt!. And he reexamined it again and it went back in! So he sent the whole class in for help!. My principal and our deans came outside, ambulence came, I was put on a stretcher and given an IV of morphine, had to go to the ER and get x-rays!. Now I have a humongus knee brace on and some fabulous crutches too

I seriously don't know what to do!. Hopefully I will be off crutches in a week, but this injury has broken me down to my core!. I just got out of the shower, which was so incredibly difficult and painful!. I couldn't stop crying!. I just want to lie in bed all week but I have school!.!.!.it's gonna be impossible for me to get ready in the morning (and now I cant even drive myself) and get around school easily!.

Has anyone been in this situation before!? Please, I need encouragement and advice!. I don't want to miss out and get severely behind in school, but I don't have any energy or happiness right now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Hopefully your parents will take you to see an orthopedist!. They will evaluate the knee!. From that evaluation a determination will be made as to what would be the appropriate treatment course for you!. There are multiple options but all of this is going to depend on what the examination finds!. You are going to need physical therapy at some point in this to regain the strength of the knee and to get the entire leg ready to participate in any activity that you wish!. I cannot get more specific without the necessary diagnostic information!. Use ice on the knee for fifteen to twenty minutes per hour!. The long leg brace will help you maneuver around without further stress to the knee!. The crutches will further take stress off the leg and allow it to settle down!. Hopefully the only course of care will be some therapy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sorry about your knee!. a year ago i broke my foot tho and i had trouble with everything!. my mom never took me to the doc because she didn't think it was anything to be worried about!. when we went for my physical a few months later it was still swollen and bruised and the doc said i had probably broken it but there wasn't anything they could do now!. I went four months before we even went to the doctor and the pysical was for basketball and then the coach said i would have been on the team but apparently on the sheet the doc had put that i had broken my foot and the coach was like i don't want to re-hurt it!. so that sucked pretty bad!. But you'll be fine i'm sure!. i didn't have crutches either so!.!.!. yeah!. good luck with your knee and i hope it feels better soon!. try taking tylonal when you get up in the mornings it will helpWww@Answer-Health@Com
