I'm just recovering from dry socket!. It is by far the worst pain I have ever had in my entire life!. You make it worse by trying to eat food, smoking, sipping through a straw, etc!. When you get hungry try to only have soup!. After you finish eating rinse your mouth with warm salt water or use an irrigating syringe!. You will need to contact your dentist right now and hopefully he has an emergency line!.
I think that when you go back they will put a dissolving gauze packed really tight into your open wound with clove oil or something!. You will feel immediate relief!. Tell him to suture it so it doesn't come out!. Too bad he didnt prescribe you a few pills of Vicodine!. Its a narcotic and very addictive so only take it if you have to!. The pain goes away completely when you take a Vicodine and an Exedrine Migraine 250 MG tablet together!. I noticed you mentioned pain in your neck and arm area!. You might also have an infection so some antibiotics will fix you right up!. Again, contact your dentist right now so you are not miserable!.
With dry socket your jawbone is exposed to the inside of your mouth and even inhaling will cause severe pain (air making contact with the exposed jawbone)!.
If your dentist is low profile and doesnt have an emergency line or anything just go down to the nearest 24 hr store and try to get some irrigating syringes and look for clove oil!.
Good luck and it took me about a month to fully recover!. I still stick my tounge in there every once in a while!. lol

note: If you do get a Vicodine prescription, please drink alot of water because one of the side effects is severe constipation (not to all of course)!. Also, I lost 15 pounds through that ordeal!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

you could go to the hospital or, you could go to your local pharmacy and get some anit inflammatories and a syringe!. Make up a salt water solution and use the syringe to flush out the socket!. If it is dry socket you'll find you flush out a load of muck!. Flush after you eat and take the anti-inflammatories regularly!. If you choose to do this you'll still probably need to visit your dentist or doctor tomorrow!. Oh and if you smoke, don't that makes it worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take some Ibuprofen (Advil)!. I had a tooth pulled and cannot take any narcotics at all!.

I had the tooth pulled, took 800 mg (4 tabs) of Advil every 6 hours the first day!. The second day I took 600mg (3 tabs) of Advil every 6 hours, and the third day I took 400mg (2 caps) every 6 hours!. The fourth day I quit taking the Advil!.

I never had the first tinge of pain!.

Try that and apply ice packs to the area of the pulled tooth, since sipping ice water seems to help!. 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off so as not to do any freeze damage to the area!.

I really hope this works for you as well as it did for me!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be an infection from an incision site that didn't heal properly!. You might just need an antibiotic like amoxycillin but they can prescribe Vicadin if you want!.
When my poor husband had his infeciton in his molar he took the antibiotic I just mentioned and he didn't need the pain medicine because it went away (yay!)!.
Hope fully this will be the case with you but DEFINITELY go to the dentist or doctor!.
I'll pray for you!.

Take the strongest painkillers you have in the house (at the recommended dosage) or go to the chemist and get something with codeine in it if you live in Australia!. I know this pain and its awful!. Be assured that it will pass in a few days but in the meantime painkillers are your best option!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

i don't think that's normal!. i didn't feel any severe pain when i got mine pulled, and one of mine was lodged into one of my sinuses!. i'd call the dentist asap if i were you!. good luck! i hope you feel better!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would take Vicodin! That is a strong pain killer but however, dont take too much or even a little and make sure when you take strong stuff, you eat something because THAT CAUSES NAUSEA AND SICKNESS!. Call your dentist if there is an emergency number!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
