Question: Ok guys, can any1 explain 2 me in simple terms how the body responds 2 a tissue injury!?
Answers:
How simple!? Look at it this way, your skin is a barrier to keep organs, veins, muscles, tendons inside and to keep bugs and viruses outside!. So when you damage the skin, you have damaged this protective barrier!. The bug is the enemy and will enter via the injury, remember our skin is always covered with bugs!. So the immune system or white blood cells, which are mixed in with the red blood cells, are the second line of defense!. First the Lymphocytes notice a foreign invader, then they signal the platelets to fix the hole in the skin, so the injury will stop bleeding, the platelets, and then the area go kinda yellow tinge the lymphocytes!. As the lymphocytes mount an attack on the bugs, the area will go red, as they call up more blood cells to the area to help!. That extra blood causes the inflammation, as the lymphocytes and monocytes release chemical to kill the invaders, bugs!. That is the scab and eventually when the skin renews itself, the scab falls off!. Hope that helps!?
