okay i sprained my wrist at school falling down the stairs at lunch and the doc gave me a splint and told me to put in a sling!.but he never told me for how long!? how long should it take to heal and why did he make me wear a sling!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

He is applying the PRICE method!. Protect, with the splint, Rest by imobilization, Now ICE to reduce swelling, Compression, ace bandage it, starting at the hand towards wrist, Elevate by using the sling!. Start by light motion so your muscles don't start getting stiff form non use!. As your wrist feels better and swelling goes down, you can move up to being more mobile!.
