Pain in right neck/shoulder?!

Question: Pain in right neck/shoulder!?
Okay ever since I was 12 or 13 I have gotten these I guess you would call them tension aches in my the spot between my neck and shoulders!. It hurts so bad!!!! The only thing that helps is laying down an unfortunately being a working mom with kids that's not usually an option and it still doesn't completely get rid of it!. It's getting to the point it's an everyday thing!. Tylenol and Aleve doesn't help!. I would like to ask my doctor for something but I don't want him to think I'm some sort of druggie or something but the pain is really intense!. I mean sometimes it's so bad that the next day after having one I'm sore from having one!? Any serious suggestions!?!?!? Please help!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try this and if it doesn't help then seek medical attention!. Use ice on the area for fifteen to twenty minutes per hour!. That will decrease the pain and allow the muscles and nerves to relax!. You may also try filling an empty soda bottle with water and placing it the freezer!. Don't fill it completely nor put the cap on!. Once the bottle is completely frozen roll it across the area for the fifteen minutes and see if that doesn't reduce your complaints!. This is a common tension spot and reading that you are a working mom with children is only going to increase your stress levels!. If you can afford it get a professional massage and that should also help!. Don't get a deep one for the rebounding that could happen will only make things worse!. If that is not an option perhaps someone close to you could do this!. Also try and work in some yoga or stretching for fifteen minutes before going to bed!. Also make sure that your posture is good all of the time!. This could help you more than you can realize!. If there is no improvement see your doctor!. A referral to a physical therapist might also prove beneficial to you for they will look at your posture and also examine the state of your muscles!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Right now I am suffering from the same type of pain that you describe!. However I have discovered the source of my pain is my heavy purse which I carry on my right shoulder!. I have to remind myself not to carry my purse on my shoulder or I will always wind up with that same pain!. I have had it before!. Even since my school days!. It's just taken me a while to figure out what was causing it!. Don't know if that's your problem or not!. Just something to think about!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Let your doctor diagnose and prescribe a treatment, it is much better than telling your doctor what type of medicine you want!. May be also you want to do some research about your symptoms, but in all cases don't try to treat yourself, see a doctor or a specialistWww@Answer-Health@Com

go get some x rays done!.!.!.see if ur spine is alrightWww@Answer-Health@Com

I used to have this problem, and what I'd do when it comes on is to have a massage done - either by someone or self massage!. Below are instruction on how to self massage!.

Focus on the areas that feel most tense and work slowly and deeply!. The following simple massage and exercise is an effective way of relieving tension and can be done anywhere!.

1!. Tilt your head back, and with the palms and fingers of each hand, squeeze the flesh at the base of the neck on either side of the spine!. Then slowly roll your head forwards, still squeezing!. Hold the stretch for ten seconds, then return your head to an upright position!. The amount of flesh you squeeze depends on how relaxed you are!.

2!. Stroke your hands up and down the back of the neck to warm the area!. Then use the fingers of both your hands to make deep, circular pressures all around the neck area, making sure that you do not apply pressure to the spine itself!.

3!. Place your left hand on your right shoulder and squeeze the muscle there!. Hold the squeeze and slowly rotate your shoulder backwards!. A grinding noise indicates that the muscles are tense and should be freed up!. Repeat with the right hand on the left shoulder!.

4!. Pummel your right shoulder with your left hand to bring fresh blood to the area!. Support your left elbow with your right hand for comfort, and keep your wrist loose and floppy as you swiftly strike the flesh!. Repeat on your left shoulder!.

5!. With your fingers stroke firmly from the center of the chest outwards, applying deep pressure between the ribs!. When you reach the edges of the ribcage, return to the center and repeat!. Feel for and concentrate on tense spots as you work out the chest!.

Or you may use Acupressure

To ease stiff shoulders, using your right hand for left shoulder and vise verse, using your middle finger to press gently on top of the shoulder, in the middle of the slope between the shoulder and neck, while breathing out, and visualizing pain leaving the spot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
