Is it normal to have feet swell on Methadone? ?!
Question: Is it normal to have feet swell on Methadone!? !?
I was started on Methadone for treatment of cervical pain and started taking it Friday!. Tonight, I noticed that my feet and ankles are a little swollen, like they were sprained or something!. Does anyone know if this is a normal side effect!. I am taking 5mg every 8 hrs, which is a small dose, and my doc said the worst thing that would likely happen was a little nausea and constipation, which has happened, Prior to this, I was on ocycodone, 10 mg x's 4!. Well it is not normal at all!. That is a definite answer!. Can it happen!? Maybe!. I never heard of this and I was on Methadone for two years!. 200mg's a day and never had swollen anything!.
I researched it, I suggest you do the same, you can be having a reaction to this drug!. It is certainly not a normal side effect and one i never heard of!.
And there you go, first answer!. My advise, get off this damn drug! I was on it two years and it is going to make you more physically dependant on opiates than heroin could induce!. If you just started, get off it! Three days and you might not withdraw, 4 days for sure and two weeks withdrawal no matter what!.
And 5mg's every 8 hours is stupid!. E-mail me for further details, Twice a day is enough and with this dose, it will constantly build up in you!. And it is not a small dose!. 15mg's a day for starters!. This drug has a 24 hour half life!. Oxy I bet worked better for the pain!.
You will have a 2mg of more increase in you everyday just by taking this dose and you WILL never know what is in you!. tELL YOUR DOC THAT!.A person on METHADONE MUST know WHAT IS IN THEM AT ALL TIMES!.
15 A DAY!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.so the next would be 7!.5, (left over from the day before)but your adding another 15,(The next) so 22 total for that day or so and it is constantly going to be going up!. than 11 (Half of 22)than 15 added the next day=so than 31mg's!. Than the next day half of 31 say 15, this dose is going to hover around 32/35mg's a day, and keep going up!.(Get it!? I am typing in bed with the compter jumbling on my legs)is the actual amount that is going to be in you!. Confusing but half of what you took the day b4 is always in you!.

Listen to DynoDiKk!. I myself was on Methadone for four years!. I never had a swelling problem and I am prone to swelling!. It sounds like a reaction to the medication to me!. If you have been on Methadone just a few days - GET OFF!. If you continue to take it - someday you may not be able to get off !. There are other pain meds you can take but honestly they are all addicting if they are an opiate they all have long term side affects you really don't want!. Please do yourself a favor and get off these pills!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I can't be positive, of course, but i'm pretty sure my mother was taking that, and her feet would swell to where it was a problem!. She takes quite a few things, but i remember that name!.
Yep- on wikipedia, it listed all the adverse side effects -- swelling of the feet, hands, arms and legs was one of them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm on the Methadone program myself and have never known it to cause swelling of any sought although the other symptoms mentioned are a common dilemma A dose that small shouldn't cause any harm but it is a concern!.
