My knee is grinds, What is going on!?!?!

Question: My knee is grinds, What is going on!!?!!?
Okay, My knee has been hurting really bad here these past few days!.
It always "grinds" when I walk up stairs but here lately it even "grinds" when I walk!. It also hurts when I squat down!. I don't know what is going on with it! I have hurt it in the past, but it was nothing dealing with my bones or joints!. Someone suggested that I may have arthritis in that knee!. Any suggestions on what it may be before I go to the ortopedic!. I know its not normal!. Please help!!
Thanks!! =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same thing happen to me, i could walk up the hill but not down, what I did was take gluecosamine (cant spell that)tablets, they rebuild the cartaledge in your knees, I havent had any problems since, you can by them at any drug store or supermarket, I know you said that it wasn't your joints but it cant hurt to tryWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like arthritis, but could be just a lack of fluid!. They can do injections to help this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have arthritis in both knees!. A physical therapist once remarked that "God only made knees to last 45 years!." I have osteoarthritis also in my hands (lots of keyboard use -- was occupational)

Recently, because of a Baker's Cyst problem that came back again after about 10 yrs!., I saw the doctor!. After 3 or 4 x rays on my knees, diagnosis was -- the painful left knee showed cartilage wear (thinner space in the joint than my better knee!.) Diagnosis is minor arthritis in my left knee (the painful one) and some arthritis in my right knee!.

So I added to my diet, a spoon of cod liver oil (yuck) each morning and glucosamine/ chondroitin pills (pills recommended by therapist)!.

She told me to stay off my legs as much as possible (no more 2 to 3 mile walks) and I do that because it hurts when I walk too far and I'm still having trouble bending my left knee after one month!. I'm not walking with a cane but I can't even use the left knee to step up on a curb and going upstairs in my house, the right leg does all the raising!. My eye doctor told me Bakers Cyst symptoms normally goes away in one to two months!. So I've got only one month to go, I hope!.

Also, I joined a gym!. Physical therapist recommended swimming or bicycle to strengthen the quadriceps AFTER having me walk up and down the hallway several times while she studied my gait!. She seemed to be looking to see if my legs were straight, if I walked straight, and remarked I seemed to put weight on the outside with a slight toe-in!. Later, on the internet, I learned that the exercises she recommended for me would be harmful if anyone had legs or knees that were not straight (bow legged, etc)!.

I read an earlier answer you received!. I also have trouble on hills!. Downhill has been difficult for me too!. We live 1/2 block down a moderately steep hill from the bus stop!.

You should go to the doctor and have it diagnosed so you know what to do!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
