Hamstring injury advice please.?!

Question: Hamstring injury advice please!.!?
I made a mistake last night in class and threw a spinning wheel kick while practicing with a partner before class!. The mistake was that I was not properly warmed up and as I was executing the kick, I felt a painful jolt in my mid-hamstring area!. It was the opinion of my class that I go home immediately ice and I did!. My question to anyone out there!. I am walking with a slight limp today and I am at work and have Bio-Freeze on the area!. How do I judge the severity of the injury!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Judge it by the severity of the pain!. If the limp is just slight it is probably just a strain!. If it isn't getting better after icing it for 24-48 hours, go to the doc!. They might want you to get some PT to loosen it up and strength the whole leg!. Oh, yeah, try wearing compression shorts to support it and to keep it warm!. Many times with Ham or Quad strains the muscles in the back or front of the leg are not equally strong so the weaker one gets a strain!. My son just pulled his Quad and that is what we have been dealing with for a few weeks!. PT has helped a bunch, they were able to use ultrasound to loosen the knot that formed immediately during the injury and with massage and the stretching and exercises he is almost back to normal!.

Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
