Benadryl for sleep - I don't want a perscription?!

Question: Benadryl for sleep - I don't want a perscription!?
Taking the max amout,( 4 teaspoons) just does not make me drowsy enough to sleep!. Can I double it with no harm!? I do not want to take a perscription sleeping pill!. I also see sleeping pills with the same exact ingrediant in Benadryl, at the supermarket!.

Any over-the-counter medication that ends in PM, or Nyquil, you will get addicted to!. Your body will build up a tolerance if you take it every night!. I'm not exaggerating when I say if you start with two, in a year you'll be needing 10, etc!. With the Benadryl, same problem!.

Melatonin is definitely worth a try!. That's a vitamin, and lots of people swear by it!. Another thing people swear by is warm milk!

I know you don't want a prescription!. However, there are 3 new, safe meds that work great, and are are no problem to get!. They are Ambien CR!., Lunesta, or Rozerem!. That would be your best way to go!.

Bless you and be careful!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, most OTC sleeping pills have the same exact active ingredient(dyphenhydramine) as Benadryl!. They are the same things with different packaging, name and price!
I understand that you don't want to take prescription medication, but taking double the maximum dose is definitely not good!.
Side effects aside, you'll get used to it pretty soon and it stops working and you'll be needing even more, which is dangerous!.
Try other approaches, behavioral or anything!. I know it's hard, but it can be changed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should go to the drug store and get yourself melatonin which is over-the-counter and non-addictive in any capacity

it helps you get back into your natural sleeping pattern i have used it before and it works well

you don't need a prescription and it is pretty cheap

taking the benadryl - i guess if you are desperate for a night or two but it is not meant for continuous use so i would avoid it in the long termWww@Answer-Health@Com

It has the same active ingredients as Tylenol PM, Advil PM and other sleep aids!. I wouldn't take more than the recommended dosage though!. The problem with Benadryl is the fact that you develop a tolerance fairly quickly!. So in a few days it won't make you as sleepy, it won't make you sleepy at all actually!. So it's not much help in that respect!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I work graveyard at a plastic company and lots of times its hard to get a good nights sleep you should try advil pm in the gel form it will put you asleep in about one hour but be sure you have enough time to sleep the pill off about six to eight hours if not you will be groggy till it wears off!. Take nyquil!. I know it says it's for coughs and colds or something, but it knocks you right out!. I always use it when I can't sleep and it never fails!. You'll be sleeping like a baby within 15 min- a half hourWww@Answer-Health@Com

if i knew the equivalent of teaspoons to pills i could help you out!.
with pills the max amount you can take without really hurting yourself is 12!.!.!. after 6 or 7 you get a high though!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is a cough mixture!. how could you abuse it to get to sleep!? You should stop before your body gets used to it and it doesnt cure your cough!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't up the dosage of what your taking!. Try something else!. I heard valerian root apparently works well!. Or try Tylenol PM!. Look into home remedies!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

why not try tylenol pm or advil pmWww@Answer-Health@Com
