Sprained thumb, should i get an appointment?!

Question: Sprained thumb, should i get an appointment!?
Playing basketball last night my thumb got bent back the wrong way and i am pretty sure its sprained!. The thumb itself is not swollen, but the palm just under the thumb is swollen and it is difficult to move the thumb forward and back!. Ive been icing it and got a thumb splint at cvs to keep it in and have been taking ibuprofen!. It hasnt really gotten any better in 24 hours!. It hurts when i move it, but not too much when its not moving!. Should I get a doctors appointment or should I just keep doing what Ive been doing and let it heal on its own!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
