I would set up an appointment to see a Physical Therapist!.
They will immerse your wrist, hand, fingers in Parafin(warmed wax) and will teach you methods to reduce the pain!. They will work with you on some stretching and massaging the painful areas!.

Sometimes lack of movement will cause the area to become more sore!. Heat often helps!. Warm up a wet washcloth in the microwave (not too hot) and apply it to the painful areas!. You can alternate with ice packs!. Try massaging the area on your own!. Don't press too hard, just enough so it breaks up some of the spasm (a result of the osteoarthritis)!.

My doctor is a big advocate of fish oil (which you can get over the counter)!. He says that it helps to reduce inflammation associated with OA!. Glucosamine with Chondrotin (available in your local drug store or health food store) also is a good remedy for OA!. Check with your doctor about this!. Neither are toxic on the kidneys!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was going to suggest NSAIDs but because your on Dialysis you can't use it!. Symptoms can sometimes improve with exercises, if your overweight, consider losing weight!. This will help!. Paracetamol will often ease symptoms!.

Some studies suggest food supplements such as glucosamine, chondroitin and avocado help!.

Many people benefit from Physiotherapy!. Some people also say the TENS machine is good for pain management!.

(No you can't take Celebrex either if your in Kidney failure)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I use for my arthritis for a quick bit of relief, one of them cold/hot packs you cant get!.

They're like jell in the middle, and you either keep it in the freezer for it to be an ice pack, or what I do, is put it in the microwave for a minute, and then put it on my joints!. It does ease them a bit so they can move a bit more freely without as much pain!.

Could you take paracetamol!? I don't really know much about kidney failure, but my doc says I can take paracetamol with anti-inflam's, as well, its not an anti flam itself - and paracetamol is under rated for how good it helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you can take codeine based analgesics - go ask your Doctor very nicely for some DF118 - these are 30Mg Codeine + 500Mg Paracetamol - I suffer from osteo-arthritis and they work!!! the down side to them though is that they tend to cause constipation - so you'll need to counter that with Senokot and they will make you drowsy - so no driving or operating plant or machinery whilst taking them!.

Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
