Question: Will taking more than one Percocet be harmful!?
I have a prescription for percocet!. I took one about an hour ago, but am still having pain!. Would it be bad if I took another!?
The bottle says to take one every 4 hours as needed!. It does not say how much I should not exceed!. It does, however, say that taking more than the recommended amount could cause breathing problems!.

Doctors usually prescribe medication to be taken in the amount and time frame that they feel is necessary to help you with your pain!. Keep in mind, most medications won't make the pain go away completely, they just dull it!. I know 'cause I've had 3 surgeries and have been on Percocet!.
Like I said, because I don't know your age, weight, and other important things, I can't presume to compare you to me and tell you what I did or what was prescribed for me!.
I'd check with my doctor if I were you!. Obviously, you're under a doctor's care or else you wouldn't have the Percocet Rx!. And, again, remember that it's not intended to make the pain totally go away!. It will just make your pain manageable and tolerable!. That is what my doctor told me!.

I would recommend getting together a list of all medication you are on along with the Percocet!. This includes OTC (over the counter) meds and vitamins!. You should call or visit the pharmacy where you filled the med, or your regular pharmacy if you filled it somewhere else!. They should be able to recommend an appropriate regimen of OTC NSAIDs and/or pain-relievers!. Generally, you can also use Ibuprofen with the Percocet, alternating doses!. You should avoid any products with acetaminophen or tylenol, as this is already in the Percocet!. Also avoid alcohol, as this both increases the change of intestinal bleeding and the effects of the drugs!.
