Stomach cramps for over a week, what could be wrong with me?!

Question: Stomach cramps for over a week, what could be wrong with me!?
Since last wednesday I have had stomach cramps on and off!. It started in my lower abdomen and pelvic area!. The third day I heard gurgling noises in my lower abdomen!. The next couple days it was on and off just feeling like menstrual cramps, or as if I had to use the rest room!. (which I was still going #2, just wasn't producing a lot)!.
Well yesterday I started to feel more ill, so I took laxatives and whilst I was waiting for its results I began to get a slight fever, and chills!. After I started going a few times, I started to feel better!. But of course, the pain is still there- on and off!. Its now located between the ribs in my upper abdomen, more towards the left side!. but, the pain will still sometimes move to my lower left abdomen/pelvic region!. I also seem to get heartburn, and when i am able to (sometimes difficult) pass gas or belch it helps relieve the feeling!.

what might it be!?

thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you were able to go, did a lot pass!? You might still be constipated even though you're going!.

Constipation,Age 12 and Older - Home Treatment

Constipation can be treated at home!.

* First:
o Try gentle exercise!. Take a short walk each day!. Gradually increase your walking time until you are walking for at least 20 minutes!.
o Make sure you drink enough fluids!. Most adults should try to drink between 8 and 10 glasses of water, or noncaffeinated beverages each day!. Avoid alcoholic beverages and caffeine, which can increase dehydration!. If you have heart failure or kidney failure, talk to your health professional about what amount of fluid is right for you!.
o Include fruits, vegetables, and fiber to your diet each day!. Have a bran muffin or bran cereal for breakfast, and try eating a piece of fruit for a mid-afternoon snack!.
o Schedule time each day for a bowel movement (after breakfast, for example)!. Establishing a daily routine may help!. Take your time!. Do not be in a hurry!.
* Support your feet with a small step stool [about 6in!.] when you sit on the toilet!. This will help flex your hips and place your pelvis in a more normal "squatting" position for having a bowel movement!.
* If you are still constipated:
o Add some processed or synthetic fiber-such as Citrucel, Metamucil, or Perdiem-to your diet each day!.
o Try a stool softener, such as Colace, if your stools are very hard!.
o Try a rectal glycerin suppository!. Follow the directions on the label!. Do not use more often than recommended on the label!.

And!.!.!.Here's some info on something less likely (in my opinion) but something to keep in mind:

Diverticulitis - Symptoms

Symptoms of diverticulitis may last from a few hours to several days!. These symptoms may include:

* Tenderness, cramps, or pain in the abdomen (usually in the lower left side but may occur on the right) that is sometimes worse when you move!.
* Fever and chills!.
* A bloated feeling, abdominal swelling, or gas!.
* Diarrhea or constipation!.
* Nausea and sometimes vomiting!.
* Loss of appetite!.

Diverticulitis - What Increases Your Risk

The possibility of developing diverticulitis increases with age!.

You may be more likely to develop diverticulitis if you:

* Eat a low-fiber diet!.
* Have a family history of diverticulosis!.
* Smoke tobacco!. According to one study, people who smoke may face a greater risk of developing complications of diverticulitis than those who do not smoke!. The study did not link smoking with a particular complication!.2

Diverticulitis - Home Treatment

Home treatment may help you control symptoms of diverticulitis or reduce the chance of having additional attacks of diverticulitis!.

To reduce abdominal pain caused by mild diverticulitis:

* Apply a heating pad to your abdomen to relieve mild cramps and pain!.
* Try relaxation techniques (such as slow, deep breathing in a quiet room or meditation) to help reduce mild pain!.
* Use a nonprescription pain medicine such as acetaminophen (for example, Tylenol)!.
* If these techniques do not help and your pain increases, call your health professional to see whether prescription pain medicine is needed!.

To reduce problems with bowel movements:

* Eat a high-fiber diet!. Whole-grain breads and cereals, brown rice, and fresh fruits and vegetables can all be part of a high-fiber diet!.
* Practice healthy bowel habits, such as eating at regular times, not straining during a bowel movement, and getting plenty of fluids each day!.
* Try not to rely on laxatives to have regular bowel movements!.

Diverticulitis - When To Call a Doctor

Call 911 or other emergency services immediately if the person has been bleeding from the anus and has signs of shock, which could indicate that a diverticular pouch is bleeding (diverticular bleeding)!.
