ACL knee surgery on children?!
Question: ACL knee surgery on children!?
ok so i hav to hav an MRI done on my knee and they think i need ACL surgery!. i was just wondering would they do it on kids(im 12)!? and also wat do they do during ACL surgery!? thnksWww@Answer-Health@Com

no tradition surgery because the bones with grow but an ACL graft will not!. It is very rare for a kid your age so wait for the results!. acl surgery the cut out your damaged one, then make a new one from somewhere in your body or from a dead person!. then they implant it in you with screws!. they mat perform an extra articular at your age which is a whole different procedureWww@Answer-Health@Com
What they do during surgery depends on what the problem is!. I have had an ACL reconstruction, in which they took a piece of my hamstring tendon, and threaded it through the front of my knee!. It took a lot of physio and exercises to get it working really well again, but I am glad I had it done as my knee is now much, much better!.
There is no point worrying or thinking too much about it until you have had the MRI!. I think the operation I had was about the worst one you could have, and it was still OK!. Find out what the problem is first, and then you can find out about what operation you might need!.
