Covering a cut to heal?!

Question: Covering a cut to heal!?
I have a cut on my arm, it's not long or deep!. But the skin is sort of seperated about 2-3mm if that makes sense!.!.!.

So it's a minor cut, but because it looks sort of "open" I don't know if I should cover it or leave it loose!?
If I cover it, what with!?
At the moment I have a square of bandage over it with some skin tape to hold the bandage square!.!.!.

So yeah should it go free or cover!?
And if I cover it- how do I stop it from healing stuck to what's covering it!.!.!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You should clean it well and cover it if you are wearing a shirt that will rub it or if you are going to be where it could get dirty!. Many people make the mistake of slathering a cut in antibiotic ointment and keeping it covered, which actually can cause the skin to break down much like if you stay in the tub too long and your skin shrivels!. This impedes healing!. If you are covering it during the day, keep a sparse amount of antibiotic ointment on it, and make sure you clean it at night and allow it open to air also!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you should cover it!. To keep it from sticking to the bandage, make sure you're using nonstick gauze!. Also make sure you have an antibacterial cream on the cut to prevent infection!.
Change the bandage daily!. If the bandage seems stuck, soak it in warm soapy water and it should loosen and you'll be able to take it off!. If you use nonstick gauze you shouldn't have to worry about it being stuck, the info is just in case!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get an antibiotic ointment and put that over the cut after thuroughly cleaning the area and then put a new clean bandage over the area!. Check periodically to look for infection!. SHould be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
