Contrary to popular opinion, anesthesiologists do more than put patients to sleep!. They are basically responsible for keeping the patient alive through the procedure!. They monitor the patient's vital signs and give medications to maintain their blood pressure and oxygenation!. If anything goes wrong with the patient, they are generally the first ones blamed, and they pay some of the highest malpractice insurance rates because of it!. It is one of the most demanding and stressful specialties!. That's why they get paid so much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

"ALL THEY DO"!?!?!?!?!? I certainly would not want someone to put me to sleep that did not have excellent training (knowing what medication to give, how to give it) that could kill me if they make a mistake!.!.!.or not put me under enough so I wake up in the middle of an operation!. Are you KIDDING!?!?!?!? They don't JUST put people to sleep!.!.!.they also give anesthesia in the spine!.!.!.which could paralyze someone if they do it wrong!. That is a LOT of responsibility and a LOT of training is needed!. I am more than willing to pay them for their expertise!. If someone wanted to know about that profession, all they would have to do is research to find out about it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

What do you mean by easy!? and even if it was easy, what makes you think there is any link between how hard some1 works and how much they get paid!? In general the lower the pay the harder the work in my experience!

Anesthesia is a very complex and in depth area and the role is one of huge responsibilty and is very difficult to get into and succeed at!. Its paid accordingly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

anesthesiologists specifically get paid a bit because they have to (or should) sit through every procedure and watch the patients vital signs and be able to respond with a lower or higher dose, be able to choose the right medicine for the patient, and if they make a small mistake can easily kill a patient!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because they went to medical school and therefore are doctors and have that degree!.

nurses do all the work for doctors and get paid less!.!.!.!.it makes no sense!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because they have peoples lives in their hands Www@Answer-Health@Com
