I'm 14 and when i was 13 i was diagnostic with 2 curves a 57 and 68 !. I got one surgery in 2007 and one in 2008!. I would find a doctor to help you with your problem!. YOU WILL NOT NEED SURGERY FOR A 15 DEGREE CURVE!!!!!!!! But all back surgery's are going to hurt but its not as bad as it seems!. For both of my surgery's i was in the hospital for 8 days which is longer than your supposed to be in the hospital but it was only because i dont like pain medication!. ( i throw up after having it :( but you wont remember those days and after you go home you will feel great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Email me if you want to know were i got my surgery its an amazing place and a very good cost!. The do about 300 surgery's a year or so!. They will probably put you in a brace or tell you some exercises to do to keep it in place!. There is no need to worry everything is going to be ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

At thirteen it is good that you are concerned about a scoliotic curve but I don't think that there is a doctor out there that would perform this procedure for a fifteen degree curve!. Since you are concerned about this talk to your parents and doctor about sending you to a physical therapist!. They will work with you on developing a program of exercises that will stretch and strengthen your back!. The program is made up of exercises called counter derotation exercises!. At your age there is a lot that can be done to improve this condition!. On the other hand what you have is not that unusual as most people have some degree of curve!. Watch your posture and whatever you do don't get down on yourself for that has many negative effects on both the mind and the body!. Remember that posture is a reflection of your inner thoughts of yourself!. Stand up straight and get help from a therapist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Spine fusions do hurt, although pain meds will keep the pain under control!. But surgery is not in your near-future!. Since anything less than 10 degrees is considered normal for humans, 15 degrees is mild scoliosis!.
Your curve may get worse over time!. Curves will normally increase the most during your growth spurt!. Nobody can predict how much or how quickly your curve will change (if at all)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No doctor would touch you!. You don't need surgery!. Your curve is extremely minor!. I have the same curve, and it doesn't bother me much at all!. If you're that worried about it, I'd suggest seeing a chiropractor!. It should help alleviate some strain on the discs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
A 15 degree curve is not an indication for surgery unless there is documentation of rapid worsening!. Of course there would be pain afterwards but most of that can be controlled with adequate medicationWww@Answer-Health@Com
