First, I'm sorry to hear your parents aren't taking this seriously, when in fact you may have a significant injury in your shoulder!. There are several components in your shoulder that maybe damaged!. Without actually doing an exam on you, it's hard to tell what's really damaged!. But, here's a couple of tests you can do on yourself to kind of isolate what may be wrong!. Please read these carefully!. First, hold a 2-4 pound weight in your hand on the sore shoulder side!. Hold the weight down by your side!. Now, try and lift the weight straight out to the side!. Lift it as high as you can until it starts to hurt!. Now, put the weight down and hold your arms up like a goal post on the football field!. With your palms facing forward, have someone try to rotate your your shoulder backwards slowly!. Finally, try reaching behind you like you're trying to scratch the missle of your back!. If all these things cause a lot of pain and discomfort, you should see a doctor!. You have strained some tendons in your shoulder and, at the very least, you need rest, anti-inflammatory medications, and to stop carrying your back pack on that shoulder!. You may even need physical therapy!. Finally, things can get worse and you can cause permanent damage!. If you came to see me in my clinic, I would also take you out of sports for awhile!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
