Question: Need some advise on taking oxycotin!?
I was placed on oxycotin by my doc!. for a joint injury and extreme migraine pain!. I was on the oxy for about 3 months and went off about 3 weeks ago!. went through some withdrawals but feel normal now!. But I still get extreme migraines and i want to use the oxy to help!. If I take oxy now after a 3 week break can it restart my withdrawals!? the highest i got up to was 40 mg a day of oxycotinWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's doubtful that taking just one oxycontin for a migraine will cause your wd's to "restart"!. Withdrawals occur after an individual has used regularly over a period of time, and the opiate receptors in the brain become so used to being filled with opiates, that the body has physical withdrawals when the meds are discontinued!.
Actually, narcotics are generally not effective on many migraine headaches!. You may want to ask your doctor for something different!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are other meds for migraines - I would suggest trying one of those instead of the highly addictive Oxycontin!. Of course it can restart withdrawals - the stuff is one step away from heroine!.!.!. don't go back on it!Www@Answer-Health@Com
