My mother (Age:50) is suffering from lower back pain from past 5 years!. Sometimes she experiences stiffening of calf muscles in left leg!. Recently (from 6 months) she has started experiencing the same in right leg and in left hand as well!. MRI,blood test,BMI test, Planter reflexes are normal and she can lift her leg to 90 degrees!. I stay in Bangalore and i have met many renowned ortorthopedicst no use!. Please help me if any doctor (Ayurvedic/ Homeopathic/Allopathic/ NeuroSurgeon) can help in curing this!. Low back pain with pain over the calf can be due to lumbar disc prolapse!. Since MRI is normal and she has started developing pain over the other calf and hand as well, she is more likely to be having peripheral neuritis!.(nerve weakenss) Do a Doppler study to rule out Deep vein thrombosis!.Not all the diseases can be cured by doctors (never expect that) if the patient doesn't take good nutritious food and I feel that she has to take good quality vitamins!.Since there doesn't seem to be of specific problem as per investigations, Inj!.Renerve plus 1!.5g twice a week ( 5 doses) might help her!. Vitamin replacement has to be of long duration and should be of good quality!. Since she is 50 years old, she needs high intake of calcium either by way of food or replacement!. Lumbosacral belt can help her but avoid NSAIDs (pain killers)which is not going to solve the problem permanently!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I would seek the help of a doctor of chiropractic, they are specialized in many areas including low back pain and other things!. I know they receive extensive studying in spinal adjustments compared to DO's!. Hope this helps but this is what I would do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
