Can doctors treat a broken rib?!

Question: Can doctors treat a broken rib!?
At the gym today, I had 360 lbs fall on my chest!. I was performing bench presses, and I guess my arm moved too far forward in an attempt to get in one last rep!. My left arm buckled, and my spotter was not ready for that!. As a result, I am pretty sure I broke one or more ribs on my left side, and bruised them on my right!. However, a person at the gym who had his ribs broken before commented that there is no treatment for a broken rib!. That they can only give you pain medication, perhaps offer a chest protector, and charge a rather large medical bill!. I do not have health insurance, so I would rather put up with the pain if no real treatment is available!. And I am quite sure I am motivated enough to protect my broken rib(s)!.!.!. This happened about eight hours ago, so I am pretty sure no major organs were damaged by broken ribs!. Is there much need for me to go to the hospital now, or will my ribs heal after a few months on their own!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
No, doctors just give you popsicles, cause internal bleeding is like in the movies and you die 20 mins later!.

Go to a hospital to be sure, how can you risk your health like that!?
IF doctors evaluate and decide all you need is pain management, then tahts what youll get!.
If you have a bone splinter that could dettach and pierce your stomach, spleen, colon, lung, heart, they need to remove that!.

Of course, thats almost never the case!.!.!. but seriously, go get it checked!. an xray wont ever be as expensive as dying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Listen to that person from the gym, I broke mine before and a friend has and there isn't a lot they can do apart from what this person said but you need to take it easy cos you don't want them to get worse and puncture your lungs!. Get them x-rayed anyway just to see the extent of the damage!.Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

ribs heal on their own theres not a lot doctors can do but if i was you i would go to the hospital just to have an x-ray to check other parts!. xxWww@Answer-Health@Com

x ray to check other damage
then it left to repair it's selfWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have broken ribs a few times!. Once you crack one or two they are really easy to crack again!. The first time I went to the Dr!. and he didn't even do an X-ray!. He showed me why by taking a popsicle stick and bending it just enough for one side to begin to crack!. When he straightened it back the other side looked perfectly normal!. He said that is what you would most likely see in an X-ray (the normal looking side) He had no doubt I had broken a rib due to my pain level!. Now personally as long as I don't have trouble breathing or feel as if it may be broken in two which could mean sharp bone cutting my organs, I just take 800mg ibuprophen a couple times a day!. He gave me that the first time because it helps with inflammation!. While I don't go for a cracked rib let me say I would not just advise someone not to go!. I'll just tell you what I do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
