Dont worry too much!.!.!.!.the swelling WILL go down!. Its stil early days! Generally speaking when you come out of the cast, then it will be very stiff, but it should get back to normal pretty quickly!.
For the swelling, take some anti-inflamatories such as tylenol, or iburofen, make sure you elevate the wrist, as in hold it above your elbow, towards your head, dont walk around with your arm down by your side, as the blood and fluid will run straight to your hand and cause more swelling!.
It will get easier to sleep, and the swelling should go soon enough!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

As long as you have it plastered, you should be ok!. Don't do what I did and cut the plaster off before it's due to come off!. You will have problems a few years down the line otherwise!. You can ask the doctor for some anti inflammotary tablets - such as Ibuprofen - to help keep the swelling to a minimum and take Paracetamol for the pain if it gets too bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Injuries such as yours really suck i'll give you that!. Later in life may have problems with your wrist, But if are seeing a doctor you should be fine!. If your having trouble sleeping because your in pain, you should speak to your doctor ASAP, or if your just uncomfortable with the cast maybe some sleeping pills!.
Hope this helps!.

The effective way to deal with swelling is to relax and actively drain away the excess fluid!. The way to prevent future function problems is to make sure it's fix properly now!.
