Question: Broke my index finger - how long to heal!?
I sustained a crush injury to the top digit of my right index finger!. It was pretty painful but I didnt go to the hospital until 4 days after I injured it!. According to xray I chipped the bone causing a fracture!. It is also badly infected and i have a course of antibiotics!. I was using the finger for the four days at work!. I am right handed, I think I have made it worse by using it!. How long will it take to heal!. I am unable to do my job until it gets better!. I am a police officer!. The emergency room bandaged it to the other finger and nurse said keep it on for two weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

that doesn't sound too good, if it's a fracture that has lifted the top of the bone up on one side and it's still joined on the other, that can take a long time to heal!. something about less blood supply, but it's a difficult thing to repair anyway!. and when the bone does heal, it won't heal exactly and extra bone will kind of sprawl as it joins!. you'll probably end up with a thick piece of bone on the end of the finger!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh usually 4 to 6 weeks I think , Gets better but can be painful if you knock it etc, Www@Answer-Health@Com
