How common is it for an damaged Cerebral Shunt to heal?!

Question: How common is it for an damaged Cerebral Shunt to heal!?
Hi there, a very close friend of the family who has had a Cerebral Shunt since a child (definition below), got into a fight and was hit in that spot on his head!. He has underwent 3 surgeries to try to fix the problem and is now in a coma and NOT responding!.!.!. How likely is it that he will stay well and not pass away!? Any ideas!?

Cerebral shunt: In cases of hydrocephalus, a one-way valve is used to drain excess cerebrospinal fluid from the brain and carry it to other parts of the body!. This valve usually sits outside the skull, but beneath the skin, somewhere behind the ear!.

Thank you in advance,
Lissy ?

Answers:
Often people go into a coma when the cannot cope with the physical world anymore but are not yet ready to leave it!.

Try spending some time with your friend speaking loving words to him!. Talk about all the nice and fun things that you can do hear in this life!. Talk about happy memories and things that you know he would like to do once he is healed!.

Stop focusing you attention on his illness and instead focus on how you would like life with him to be!. It will still be his choice to allow the healing to come to him, but this will give him some inspiration to want it!.

Be sure to accept what is and all possible outcomes!. Just focus on feelings of love and caring!.

It is important, however, that children with cerebral palsy also have their hearing assessed by an audiologist, especially if they also have a visual impairment!.

There was a lot of information on the subject so i posted the web site
Hope it help
