Ovarian cysts?Im in so much pain?!
Question: Ovarian cysts!?Im in so much pain!?
Ok so Ive had a UTI for a week now!. Have been on antibiotics since Wed and am still in horrible pain!.
Went to the DR today and she did blood work and another urine test!. My white blood cell count was up but was nothing alarming!. My urine still showed infection!. My sugar was 120 even though I havent had anything to eat or drink in well over 20 hours ( havent felt like eating since I have been sick) sugar test 2 weeks ago was 114!.
She ordered 2 ultrasounds, She said she didnt think I had a kidney stone since I had no blood in urine but she is going to go ahead and do a renal ultrasound!.
She also mentioned that it may be an ovarian cyst!. ( had one a few years ago that was the size of a grapefruit that I had surgically drained)!.
My question is could a cyst cause so much pain ( I dont remember Because I also had a ruptured appendix at the same time I had the large cyst) and also could it cause my period to be late!? Its a week late!. Blood test was negative for pregnancy!. If I have a large cyst and it ruptures nothing will show on the ultrasound right!? Also how long after a cyst ruptures does a period usually start!? Just wondering this because I dont want to have to go in for the ultrasound if Im on my period!. The dr also mentioned that the ultrasounds are different that one is of the abdomen and the other of the pelvis!. Does this mean they will have to use the ultrasound that they insert inside the vagina!. Sorry but Im just wondering!. Im scared about it!.

I was recently in the same situation!. I had to have the internal ultrasound but don't worry its so small its like the width of 2 fingers!. they found 2 cysts on my ovary, and I was in a ton of pain, I couldn't get out of bed for 2 weeks, I also had to have a bladder scope for the burning while peeing, which hurt much more!. then i took antibiotics for almost a month and finally im back to normal!. most likely it is a cyst!. make sure you eat yogurt to help regrow the good bacteria antibiotics take away, and rest as much as possible!. Most cysts rupture and you do some bleeding!. One the size of a grapefruit is abnormally large and it may have to be drained!. A large cyst will cause some pain no doubt!. Nothing will show on the ultra sound if it breaks, I would just tell the Doctor that it ruptured, if it does, and the ultra sound may be canceled!. Are you sure you don't mean a CT Scan of the abdomen or pelvis!? Ultra sounds are ultra sounds!. They are what they do if the arteries in the legs are checked or blood flow in the heart arteries and carotid arteries in the neck!. They do not do ultra sounds inside the vagina, or at least that's a new one on me!. Don't be afraid, they are not going to hurt you and worry only makes things worse!. Worrying comes when something happens to make you worry!. Think positive!. I still think the reason the ultra sound is different is because they do a CT Scan of the area's mentioned and that certainly is different!. I have a wife and four daughter-in-laws so I am up on a lot of female problems!. If you want to get rid of the kidney infection, put about 6 to 8 ounces of water in a glass, add a tablespoon or tablespoon and a half of Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar (Heinz is best), stir and drink it straight down!. For the first day or so after you already have the infection, take the vinegar at least twice a day!. Once it gets clear, take the same amouint of vinegar every morning and you won't have to worry about the infections any more, but you have to do it faithfully every day!. Drinking lots of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice will also help the infection and lots of water which will flush it out!. Wishing you the very best young lady and god luck on whatever procedures you have done, just don't worry!. I also hope the cyst ruptures on it's own!. Your blood sugar is not that high!. if it is painful when you pee, go buy cranberries,(not the ocean spray cranberry juice) or cranberry extract!. It actually prevents the infection from latching on to the walls of the urethra and causing pain when you pee!. If it is all the time, have a look for endometriosis which is only diagnosed from them looking inside laproscopically!. The blood sugar being high after not eating is concerning!. pancreatitis is painful, gallstones are painful, a large enough cyst can compress nerves and cause pain, the list is endless!.
