Question: Worried parent seeks advice, words of wisdom and possibly kind words of reassurance please !.!.!.!?
My 10 year old daughter returned from school recently and said her friend had noticed a sore underneath my daughters tongue!. I had a look and it looked like she had maybe bitten it or some skin had maybe got caught between her bottom teeth!. It didnt bother my daughter and she said it didnt hurt!. She never mentioned it again and i completely forgot about it until she returned from her dads this weekend!. She said her dad wants her to go to see the docs with it!. I was surprised it was still there (3 weeks later) to be honest as my daughter had never mentioned it again!. It still looked pretty much the same except smaller and less angry than before!. First it looked like just like a bloody mess the second time it looked more like a small red lump!. I took her to the docs and he said in 30 years of being a doctor he hadnt seen anything like it before!. He has referred my daughter to the hospital and we are now waiting for an appointment!. I cannot sleep for thinking the worst!. I have "googled" it but that just came up with my worst nightmare!.
The lump is on the lefthand underside of her tongue, its abit smaller than a penny in size, its a dark reddy purple colour, it doesnt hurt!. It doesnt have a head on it or anything and doesnt seem to be getting any worse!.
Has anyone out there had anything similar and know what it might be!? Im so so worried please someone reassure me :-))

Honestly it sounds like a blood boil, I once had one on my inner thigh that hung around for ages!. It just shrank on it's own eventually!. Try not to worry about it I'm sure it's nothing serious!. Just because a doc has never seen it before doesn't mean it's life threatening!. In honesty I think your doctor is a bit of a plank for saying that to you! it has made you more worried!.

I wouldnt panic until you know something it might be just something that got infected like a cyst it just needed to be cut open and lanced good luck and I hope nothing is wrongWww@Answer-Health@Com
Sounds as though you have nothing to worry about as it looks better than it did 3 weeks ago which means it is healing and not getting worse whatever it is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Being a father myself I can understand how you feel!. But calm down a bit first!. A view years back we went to Greece for our summer holiday!. Spending allot of time in the pool (as you do) the kids have developed mouth ulcers of different sizes colours and forms!. (Not just them i had it as well)!. If it is just one of them then it is quite easy to treat!. Untreated however they have a tendency to hang around a bit!. Antiseptic ulcer cream usually clears that up relativly fast (i!. e!. Bonjella if you live in the UK) If you want to help your kid then keep her diet to things without acid in the food!. Once it has cleard up feed them again as normal!. So head up and all the best!.
