Question: Does 8 hours of sleep offer a better quality rest than 2, four hour naps!?
Many folks sleep like cats, sleeping a few hours here and there!.
Is a solid eight hour sleep equivalent to 2, four hour sleeps!? Can a recuperative, deep REM sleep be achieved in two short duration sleeps, each lasting four hours!? Www@Answer-Health@Com


Answers:
Everyone is different!. Some people get all the sleep they need in 6 hours!. Other people are not fully rested after ten hours sleep!. There are so many things that influence the quality of sleep that it would be impossible to go into them here!. The best you can do is figure out what works best for you and stick with that!. Of course as you get older even what works for you is subject to change!. The sleep pattern I had when I was 25 is vastly different than the one I have today as an old coot nearing 50 years old!.

Some people dive right into REM sleep spending little time in the other levels!. Most people transition from one level of sleep to another throughout their sleep cycle so again it is difficult to give a one size fits all answer to your question!. One thing is for sure sleep is not like math!. You can not break sleep up into portions and expect quality to remain constant!. Sleep is a complex relationship between the brain its neurotransmitters and the individuals own issues, likes and comfort zones!. The best quality rest is a highly individual and subjective assessment that is a quest each of us must make alone!.

Having shorter sleeps is unlikely to get you into the different brain waves of sleep a person requires for restorative sleep!.
