Question: What 'technically' causes your foot to go to sleep!?
my daughter who is eight tells me at least once a day that her foot is asleep!. should i be worried or have her seen by a doctor!? i don't think it the position she is in!. so what could be causing this!? please and thank you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cutting off circulation decreases blood flow to the limbs!. She may be sitting up properly but keeping her knees bent for a period of time can cause this!. I wouldn't make a special appointment just for this but next routine visit mention it to her doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
She may be sitting in such a position that blood flow is restricted to that foot!. Maybe the blood vessel happens to lie near a pressure point when she sits!. Try having her sit on a softer chair, one with a cushion!. Or, maybe she is sitting too long in one position!. Then just have her get up and walk around every so often to change position and to restore the blood flow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
