What causes ear pain when sleeping?!

Question: What causes ear pain when sleeping!?
For the last couple of years, I wake up very frequently because my ear is in agonizing pain!. Not usually the ear canal but the outside of the ear itself!. It happens with both, but never at the same time, and it's always the ear I'm sleeping on!. I can't sleep with a pillow (I always throw them to the floor in my sleep or before) and I prefer sleeping on the floor or a couch!.!.!. but this happens even if I'm on a soft bed!.
Is it most likely the pressure of my head on my ear that causes this!?
Any suggestions to make it stop!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
try to not to sleep without pillow!.!.now on put your pillow under the bed sheet so it won't fall out the bed in night time when you are sleeping!.i am sure this pain in your ears due to pressure on them without pillow!.!.good luck!.

Edit:if you sleeping on other side of pillow(without pillow)then do this!.!.put 2 similar pillows on both sides of bed,but don't forget to put them under your bed sheet!.this way you must have to sleep on pillow and there is no way for you to sleep but just only with pillow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I get ear aches from the cold(long story) I will squeeze the goo out of garlic cap sills and rub them down my ear but you are saying that its your inner ear (that's the part of the ear that you see)is hurting, you should try to sleep with a pillow it might help, or try to strap the pillow to your head!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
