Percocets after surgery making me sick!?!

Question: Percocets after surgery making me sick!!?
I stepped on glass on halloween and pulled out the glass!. Turns out after an x ray there was still an inch of glass in there!. So yesterday (thursday) I got surgery to get it taken out!. It is at the bottom of my foot, a very painful and sensitive area and my Doctor prescribed percocets to keep the pain away!. Problem is i've never taken drugs like this and it's making me nauseous!. I'm 5'6 105 pounds and 17!.!.!. not a big girl and I am vomiting violently whenever I take them!. I even cut them in half and took them and i'm still so nauseous and the pain is unbearable! Any help or suggestions with the nausea or pain please!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Look up nausea accupressure online and find the spots whree you are supposed to apply pressure to on the underside of your wrists!. If pressure there does help your nausea, get a hairtie or rubber band or some sort of elastic thing and either a button or some rounded hard shaped thing like that and use that for makeshift anti-nausea bands!. Or, have someone go to a local drugstore to see if they carry any pre-made anti-nausea bands!.

Having a full stomach may help, or it may just give you more to throw up!.

Candied ginger helps a LOT, especially if you slowly chew it over the course of the day!.

Ice cream tends to help me settle my stomach, but that can also just make things worse!.

Or, you may want to try cutting the pills in fourths, if you can, and see if taking a lower dose more frequently helps!.

Or, just don't take them at all!. Pain won't kill you!. Believe me, I know! I've been in severe chronic pain for about ten years now, and have tried percocets (among MANY other things)!. After I had been taking them daily for about a month, I stopped throwing up!. But it took a while for my body to get used to them!.!.!. Nasty stuff, opiate pain killers are!. :/Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're having an allergic reaction of some kind to those meds!. Don't take anymore - call your doctor NOW (or his answering service - they will get hold of him)!. He'll call in a different pain med for you!. You shouldn't have to hurt and it is absolutely not normal to vomit when taking pain meds!. Please call your doctor, o!.k!? I wish you felt better and I know you will if you get something different to relieve your pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Did you take it with food or milk!? May sound like a no-brainer, but a lot of people don't like to take their pills with food! I would suggest calling your doctor!.!.!.you could just be one of those people who can't take a percocet! It happens!. See if they can give you something else for the pain!. Good luck, hope you feel better!Www@Answer-Health@Com
