High School Wrestling Knee Injury?!

Question: High School Wrestling Knee Injury!?
Hi, yesterday i was wrestling in my school and we were going live with a partner, I was fine during the drilling but as i was going live i was on bottom (on my stomach) and i was trying to build up to a base and as i was pulling my knee up from the mat, it felt as though my kneecap shifted from the normal position to the right and back, this was extremely painful, so i sat out for 5mins or so and then i decided to go back in, as i was wrestling the same guy again i felt the same thing happen only this was more severe!. So after that my coach just told me to sit out!. As of today it still hurts when i walk on it, i am wearing a knee brace too!.
My question: Is this serious!? I really do not want to get knee surgery!. What can i do to not make this happen!? Thanks a lot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Well, it sounds like you dislocated your patella!. You need to go to a doctor because you probably tore some tendons when you did this and letting it heal on its own will leave you MUCH more pron to doing it again!. They will probably take an MRI to see if you have any soft tissue damage
then a couple types of knee braces may be necessary depending what type of tissue damage is present
you are probably done with wresting for now
please go to the doctor if you don't your going to stretch out the tendons in you knee and it will keep going out of place
