New to Contact Lenses?!

Question: New to Contact Lenses!?
I got new contact last weekend, and my O!.D!. said that I have a slight astigmatism but they wanted me to try the Acuvue 2 first!. So far I can't stand wearing them!. It's not that they're uncomfortable but everything close up looks blurry with them on!. From a distance I can read anything fine!. I makes me feel dizzy and sick!. I'm going back again anyways to see if I need Acuvue 2 for Astigmatism!.

I'm wearing my glasses now because I can't concentrate on my work with my contacts on and I can see everything perfectly fine!.

I'm just confused, why would things close up be out of focus!? Is that's how astigmatism works or is my prescription just wrong and I should ask to do another eye exam!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I have astigmatism real bad too!. My OD suggested Gas-Permeable contacts (not soft-lens!. He said SL would put everything out of fucus)!. I've worn the gas permeable for-well!.!.!.w/o giving away my age hehehe-since I was 16!.!.!.Which is quite a long time ago!. No problem what-so-ever! Could be you can't focus w/ soft-lenses, too!.

Ask him about GP lenses instead!. Different care w/ them though!. You can't wear them for days-gotto take them out at night!. Your OD will explain about the care and wear!.

Hope they work for you too!Www@Answer-Health@Com

yeah, you could have put your contacts in the wrong eye!. like if you have a different prescription in both eyes, and you switch them, it intends to make things blurry!. so either ask for another exam, or try switching to the regular acuvue because i have those and they havent caused me problems yet!.
