Suspected ankle fracture, sent home with just tablets?!

Question: Suspected ankle fracture, sent home with just tablets!?
Okay two days ago i Went to A&E because i couldn't bear wait on my left foot/ankle after twisting/rolling it inwards (big toe first)!. There was swelling bruising and i couldn't and still can't move my ankle or toes with on a lot of pain

i had 3 X-rays done (top view of foot, right side of foot and my ankle) Heel was meant to be done too but the person in X-ray refused to do it, she said i didn't need it)

He said it was a sprain, but there could be a fracture some where in my ankle!.

He told be to take 8 Co-Codamol and 4 ibuprofen and sent me on my way!. Is this normal!?

Anyway yesterday when i woke up i couldn't bare weight on it with out literally crying in pain!. my mum said there wasn't any point in my going back so soon because there keep saying its a sprain!. I have crutches now (not that the hospital gave me) because it really is that bad

What can i do!? Go to my GP!? Could they do anything!? etcWww@Answer-Health@Com

I had a similar experience!. I had broken my ankle and went to the doctor and apparently the break was missed because of too much swelling around the injury!. I also went home and attempted to walk on it and felt unbearable pain!. I suggest staying off it and doing R!.I!.C!.E, which is Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation!. Do this for 2-3 days then go back to your doctor for another xray, if something is broken it should show by this time!. (Also keep taking your pain medication as needed)Www@Answer-Health@Com

you could try another hospital!. sounds like they werent too concerned with their patient!. thats sad! But if it is a fracture keep your weight off of it for a couple of weeks and it will heal on its own!. I fractured the bones in the top of my foot and they gave me the silly blue boot to wear and I kept my weight off of it and it healed!. I hope you get better soon!. take care!Www@Answer-Health@Com
