Question: What happens at the hospital when you break your wrist!?
My friend broke her wrist and i wanted to know what she will be going through sence I can't make it to the hospital to see her!. Please tell me the steps!. (she hit the side of her wrist on a wall and broke it somehow)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Chances are they do not admit (maybe overnight) for fractured wrists!. It all depends upon the type and how bad of fracture she has!. It can be as simple as a cast or possible surgical repair!.
I do wonder the interest is in the pain medication!? Again, it is all dependent upon the type of fracture and how bad it is!. Most physicians prescribe a lower level of analgesic(s) with a limited number to prevent abuse and "sharing" of med!.'s Again, it depends upon the fracture if it is minor fracture such medication(s) such as Tylenol, Ice Packs and Ibuprofen can be prescribed!.

It depends how badly she has broken it!. When my mom broke her wrist from falling down the stairs she had to have wires put in her wrist and have her wrist put in a cast and then on a slate!. If your friend hasn't broke it bad then she will probably just have it in a cast!.

They'll give her x-rays, pain medication if needed, set the bones either under x-ray or sometimes surgery if the break is really bad, and then cast it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
They put a cast on her arm and then she has to wear it in a sling around her neck for 3 or 4 weeks!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
