So, this is just about the third day since you smashed it!? Does the wound look very red or is it oozing (the part where it had been bleeding)!? Do you see any discoloration around the area!? If the skin is especially tight and kind of shiny, you may have an infection, but since you said it doesn't really hurt much anymore, you probably don't!.

It sounds like it probably was just bruised pretty badly, and that will take a while to heal completely!. If you use warm compresses (take a washcloth and run the hot tap as hot as you can stand, then wrap it around your finger) and exercise your finger to get some of the fluid to drain out (just back into the rest of your body, not out through the wound or anything), it will probably heal a bit faster and be back to normal soon enough!.

Being a violinist is going to help you with this because of the muscle that you have had to build up in your fingers to be able to play chords!. Get those muscles working and it will pull more blood through your hand and fingers, flushing out the debris from the damaged tissue that is being repairedWww@Answer-Health@Com

try to ice it then heat it a bit it helps the swelling, maybe go get it checked out they might be able to give you a cream to help :) good luck, it doesn't sound infected thought, just painful if it was discolored or pussing, then i would say it could be!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1!. Don't play violin with this finger until it's healed!.
2!. Clean the injury with hydrogen peroxide or alcohol!.
3!. Put just a smudge of neosporin on it!.
4!. Put a LARGE bandaid on it!. Immobilize the finger!.
5!. Don't move the finger!. Every time you do, you open the sore again!.
6!. A day later, with a popsicle stick and some tape, immobilize your finger, leaving the wound open to the air!. Let it dry out (don't wash it)!.

Fingers have lots of blood supply, so they heal quickly!. It shouldn't be more than 2-3 days before you can move your finger again, carefully!.
