Answers:
It is possible that the tendon was partially torn but what is more likely is that you bruised the backside of the patella or kneecap!. That can take weeks to stop hurting!. There is also a mechanism called reflex inhibition that takes place when the knee sometimes injured!. This makes the knee hard to straighten out and to constantly feel uncomfortable!. But if I had to pick one problem out it would be the bruising of the patella!. That would account for the pain and why it hurts when sitting!. The noises are most likely gas being expelled from the joint!. Use ice on the knee for fifteen to twenty minutes per hour until there is no more pain!. Start to strengthen the knee by doing this exercise!. Take a large towel and roll it up so that it fits under the injured knee!. From a long sitting position place the towel roll under the knee and have the muscles of the leg push down into the towel!. Hold that push for a few seconds and relax!. Do that about ten times!. You can do this as much as you like and it will help you overcome the problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like the patella tendon may have ruptured or partially ruptured!. You should consult an orthopedic surgeon who can do a more detailed exam!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get an MRI to check your miniscius, the tiny "worm" like cushions that support your knee cap, that will cause the popping and cracking!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
