How do I stay ahead of severe pain, Do I take the meds before the pain kicks in?!

Question: How do I stay ahead of severe pain, Do I take the meds before the pain kicks in!?
I had surgery today in my mouth and jaw!. The pain is really bad and I was given Percocet, Ibuprofen 800mg and Celebrex!. I waited until the pain got really bad and took the Percocet and Ibuprofen!. But, it really had little effect!.
Is it best to take the medication before the severe pain kicks in again!?

I was told that the first 48 hours is the most painful, after this I will not need to take anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, you should take it before the pain kicks in!. For some reason, pain meds are much more effective if taken prior to the onset of severe pain!. Take your pain meds on time at the intervals prescribed to you, whether you feel alot of pain or not!. This will keep you relatively pain free, if not completely pain free!. Once the pain becomes severe, the pain meds are less effective!.
I hope you feel better soon!.?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should take your medication as perscribe by the doctor and do not take any over the counter medications without his or her consent!.
Taking the medication as perscribe is so you do not have the pain waiting I'm sure is not on the bottle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In that case yes, stay ahead of the pain!. Take them as your doctor recommended!. They will have a better effect if you take a preemptive strike!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
