Knee Injuries and Prevention?!


Question: Knee Injuries and Prevention!?
I've always had weak knees!. My knee cap was dislocated 2 years ago, and i sprained my knee in September!. My knee is really movable, as in I can move it around with ease!. I'm terrified of running because of it!. Anyways to strengthen it!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to strengthen the surrounding musculature!. The main focus for strengthening the knee would be to strengthen the quads and hamstrings, but more importantly the glutes (butt) and hips!. These have the biggest influence on your motor control and knee injury prevention!. You may want to strengthen your calves as well!. Speak with a certified athletic trainer in regards to injury prevention!. If you've already had a kneecap dislocation your medial quad (closest to the inside) is probably pretty weak!. If you're a runner, you may want to have the athletic trainer check out your gait to make sure everything is working correctly with your walking and running cycle!.
