Answers:
wow!.!.!.long questions!.
I'll try to answer some of your questions!. I'm an OR nurse, have been a patient for five surgeries and can help with some things!.
First of all- tell the doctors that tape adhesive tears/blisters your skin!. There are other tapes around that shouldn't cause as many problems for you!.
Will you have a drain in your back!? Usually, yes!.
You will have a catheter put in your bladder after you are asleep!. Enema!? Not usually that I'm aware of these days!.The pain pump you've heard of!? I have had a variety of pain management treatment and I highly recommend it; you get a certain amount of pain medication as a basal rate, and then you can give yourself a certain number of boosts per hour as you need it!. That means that if the docs come in to remove your drains or catheters, you can hit the button and get pre-medicated before they touch you- you can also tell the docs that you want to pre-medicate yourself before they touch you- THAT is your right as a patient!.
As to needing bone graft- you need to ask you doctor exactly what he/'she is going to do and why!. That is also a patient right!.
Dehydration- as in very dry mouth post-op!? Unfortunately, that is a common problem immediately post-op because of the medications you get during anesthesia!. Usually, post-op, once you demonstrate that you can keep ice chips down, you can keep your mouth wet!.
Anesthesia awareness- if you didn't have any before, you won't have any this time!. Ask about a BIS monitor- it is used to monitor your awareness during surgery!.
As to how long you may need a bed pan!? Ask the doc when you can expect to be getting up- make a list of questions about EVERYTHING you can think of for the surgeons and another one for the anesthesia!.

The important thing is to get all your questions asked before you go into the OR!. If you have any questions that haven't been answered, tell the folks who want to take you away that you have questions for surgeons or anesthesia that you need answered BEFORE you go!. THAT is YOUR RIGHT!. Make sure that your opinions are heard and that they give you the information you need to be comfortable before you go to sleep- PERIOD!.
