MCL surgery?( 20 characters)?!
Question: MCL surgery!?( 20 characters)!?
I'm getting surgery on my MCL in two weeks and I have the choice of having a cadaver or using my own tissue!. I've already had surgery on my knee once (lateral release), so I just want to know what one would be a faster recovery!. I'm fifteen by the way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
All donor bodies are carefully screened and are rejected for the slightest abnormality!. The idea of getting HIV from a cadaver is ridiculous!.
The only problem with receiving a donor ligament is that they generally come with a higher rate of failure!. The following study found that 25% of young, active people who had ACL replacement surgery using donor tissue re-injured that ACL!. I know you're getting MCL surgery, but the finding is probably still relevant!. As it also says in the article, this is something best talked about with your doctor!. Tell him whether you intend to participate in sports or not!.
