Besides pain pills!.

Don't say 'go to the Hospital" either for that option has already been taken!.

It all depends on the pain I guess!. If is muscle pain or joint pain, you can always try ice!. If it is related to the menstrual cycle, then a heating pad or a hot tub!. Headaches-a dark cool room with some ear plugs and a cold wet wash cloth, praying that I can fall asleep and sleep off the worst part of the headache!. But if the pain is so severe that none of this works, you have to take something or go to the doctor!. You are not very specific in your question so making suggestions is kind of hard to do!. Maybe you could provide some details!?
EDIT***Since it is an old injury, and you chose not to take the pain medication, you can try to ice the affected area for 20 minutes every hour while you are awake!. If the muscles are in spasm, ask someone to gently massage the area that is causing you the pain!. You can also use a topical pain reliever while doing this to provide a little extra relief, and there are products out there that do not have a strong medicated smell to them!. Stretching in the affected area can also be beneficial, just make sure it is gentle stretching, not aggressive!. if the pain is in a joint, you need to make sure that you continue to move the joint so it does not freeze up on you!. This can cause alot of problems for you down the road, and if you let it get too bad, physical therapy can not fix it, which means surgery!. If the joint is tender, just gently move it!. Knees- sit on the edge of the bed with your feet dangling off and slowly raise your leg to a straight position, and then lower is back to a 90 degree angle!. Do this 10 times every hour!. Ankles and wrists- try to do small circles with them for at least 30 seconds 3 times every hour!. If it is the shoulder- lean over the counter, rest the non-affected arm on the counter and let the other arm hang loosely at your side!. Make small pendulum motions with it and then turn those into small circles!. You can get it started by moving your hips if your shoulder is really sore!.
Back-if you know Pilates or Yoga, get into the Pose of the Child on the floor and gently press into the stretch!. This is really good at opening up the spinal column and getting a good, gentle stretch!.

I am not sure exactly what hurts, so I tried to cover as much as possible!. If you want to, you can email me!. I have been dealing with injuries from 2 car accidents this year!. One has been fixed and the other one is still being treated, so I know how frustrating it can be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im not suppose to take pain pills either because of the shape my Liver is in because of my drinking days but I have to sometimes!. A week and a half ago I had my back dr give me a cortisone in the lower back and its worked so far!.(Knock on wood-thumping my head)!. Ive had 4 elbow surgeries too and I finally had to go see one of the Dallas Cowboy/Mavericks/Stars dr to get it fixed!. These bozo's here in east Texas butchered my arm!. For muscle pain and stuff like that I use a creme called "Sports cream" in a green tube!. It doesn't stink like the icy/hot stuff!. Ive used Sports creme ever since I was in High School!. You can get it at Target, CVS and places like that!. Good luck to you Storm!. I know Im not much help but I kinda know what your feeling!.

Get to feeling better! Pain sucks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
