Oxycontin vs Hydrocodone?!

Question: Oxycontin vs Hydrocodone!?
Is a twenty milligram Oxycontin like two ten milligram hydrocodones only without the acetaminophen or is it stronger!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
-Oxycontin is the sustained release of oxycodone which is a fully synthetic narcotic opioid
-Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic narcotic opioid

For comparisons sake If you had if you had equal mass amounts of Oxycodone and Hydrocodone the oxycodone would be two times stronger!.!.!. So you are correct however since Oxycontin does not release the whole 20 milligrams at once it is sustaned release of the oxycodone as I mentioned above!. If you were to take two hydrocodone preperation containing 10 milligrams each the 20 milligrams of hydrocodone would be metabolized quicker in your body instead of the gradual release of the oxycodone!. However different medications work for different people!.

As a note to people who say to be treated without narcotics all I can say is that is not always the case sometimes they ARE needed!. I have a disease process that is actively breaking down my nervous system I receive treatment bi-weekly, but the use of narcotic prescriptions is unavoidable they just have to be used responsibly!.
Let me just say that again the just have to be used responsibly!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

hydrocodone is vicodin which also contains acetaminophen!. Oxycontin is a narcotic drug which is stronger than vicodin that also contains acetaminophen!. vicodin is a schedule III control substance and oxycontin is a schedule II contro substance!.

The generic for oxycontin is oxycodoneWww@Answer-Health@Com
