My grandmother has an infection in the Elbow.?!

Question: My grandmother has an infection in the Elbow!.!?
My grandma has an infection in her elbow, she went to the doctor yesterday and they gave her antibiotics to help with the infection!. Yesterday when she went she had a red line traveling from the infection up her arm, the doctor drew a circle around the elbow and said that if it got out of the circle to go to the ER, because if the red line got to high and reached the gland in the armpit it would be bad!. well it got out of the circle earlier today, but she doesn't want to go because of the money it will cost to go to the ER, and she doesn't have the money on her and she won't until my Grandpa gets home from work!. he gets home at 6 and its 4 now!. [i live in the Central time zone!.] And now it is close to the gland, if not in the gland!. All she wants to do is sleep!. I was wondering whats happening to her, and what we should do!. Will she be ok until he gets home!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
She should not fool around with it especially if the doctor said that if it travels out side of the circle it is bad!. SHe should not think about the money or wait for your grandpa to get home!. She could get sick, or she could get a blood infection (which would be more costly)!. You should really encourage her to go!. It is not smart to wait!. The infection could get worse, and keep spreading making it more complicating!. It could become deadly if left untreated!. She should definetly get to the ER!. Is your mom or some one around that could help you encourage her to go!? She can not dilly dally around!. Try talking to her and just explain you do not want to wait!. She could get VERY sick!. I can not say whether she will be ok til your grandpa gets home or not, it depends on how bad the infection is, or how she is feeling other wise!. There are all whole ton of different things!.Time is of the essence, Really talk to her or call an aunt or uncle or even your grandpa and see what he thinks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
