3 weeks later my son's broken foot hurt?!

Question: 3 weeks later my son's broken foot hurt!?
My 9-year-old son broke his foot(4th and 5th metatarsian) 3 weeks ago, his foot hurt the first days but he has been doing well all this time but now he arrived from school, he was around in the house in the afternoon and now he complains about his foot, he's in pain, he was totally fine but now his foot hurts quite!. In 1-10 scale, I guess the pain is 7, what would be happening with my son's foot!?
What should we do!?
THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I broke my foot once and it hurt for quite awhile!. I found it hurt most in the morning!. Was he complaining about pain more so in the morning!? Does he have a short-leg cast!? I had a short-leg cast and I believe I re-broke the foot trying to walk down the steps, so my foot definitely hurt for more than a few weeks!. Also, if the weather is cold or has recently got cold, that could affect it!. Give him motrin or whatever pain reliever you like to use!. If it doesn't help, call your pediatrician and ask for a prescription for something stronger!. I had these giant 600 mg ibuprofen tablets that my friend gave me (they were her husbands) but I am an adult, that dosage would not be appropriate for a child!.

Have the child elevate the foot when at home!. Actually, this would be a GREAT time for him to spend alot of time playing video games! He should stay off the foot when possible at school too!. Maybe he can get some friends to bring him his lunch tray, and do other small tasks that require alot of walking or standing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Was he put in a cast or walking boot!? Has he just now returned to weight bearing!? You didn't really give enough information to answer the question!. Broken bones normally take at least 6 weeks to heal, and obviously the healing process is going to be painful at times!. Call his doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

most minor breaks still take 4-6 weeks to heal and that's when they limb is allowed to rest w/out stressing it!. if he's walking on it it will take longer if it heals at all!. he needs to go back to the Dr and listen to what he's told to do this time!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well i did the same and i would recommend going back to the crutches for about a week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

he might be faking it to get out of school lolWww@Answer-Health@Com
