I had a hernia repair w/ patch done on friday, within the day i had swelling in my testicles!. They said this may happen, but it freaks me out, i'm also having swelling around my penis, making it look very fat!. my testicles are the size of a baseball right now!. has anyone had this trouble before!? and how long before it will return to normal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is TOTALLY normal!. And this happens to hundreds of people!. Doctors just tell the patients that it might happen, but not bad!. But it happens to most people and sometimes they get pretty big!. And since that's not what the doctor told them, they freak out!.
After an inguinal hernia repair, men tend to develop a red and swollen scrotum!. Wearing a scrotal support (jock strap) will help to relieve the discomfort!. An ice pack can also help!. Put ice in a plastic bag, cover it with a towel, and place it over the area for 15 to 20 minutes out of every hour as long as necessary!. Do not sleep on the ice pack!.
After the first 24 to 48 hours, switch to heat for pain or swelling!. Use a heating pad (turned on low) or a hot water bottle, or sit in a warm water bath for 15 to 20 minutes out of every hour as long as needed!. Do not sleep on the heating pad or hot water bottle!. Heat brings blood to the area or the surgery and helps it heal faster!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
