Csf leak from lumbar puncture- experiencing pain in lower back...?!

Question: Csf leak from lumbar puncture- experiencing pain in lower back!.!.!.!?
I am to understand that this is unusual, but, I have a csf leak from a lumbar puncture, but I experience it like this: I feel discomfort in my lower back, then the headache starts soon after!. I understand that most people just have the headache, without it being preceded by the lower back discomfort!. I had the lumbar puncture almost a year and a half ago, but have been very hesitant to have the blood patch done, because I'm told that it's the blood patch that has the highest percentage of terrible side effects!. If it's unusual to have back discomfort preceding the headaches, then could there be another reason why my puncture site is not healing!?

To clarify- I felt a twinge in my lower back the first time right after the lp, and have been having the headaches every day since that day, in case anyone wonders how I know I it's a csf leak!.

Thanks for any info or ideas about this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Jay dude are you really a nurse!? I mean its not leaking out of her back!. the skin always heals!. and besides Headaches due to csf leaks are the most common side effect of a lumbar puncture!. In some cases they can last for up to a year!.

I left a longer answer on your other question!. check there for more details!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's been too long, normaly, CSF does not leak that easily, what is the color!?

If that's an unhealed LP that would have caused you already menigitis on the first 24 hours after the LP, because it's been like a year now CSF leak will be the last on our option in list of disorders in that case!. CSF when leaking is a medical emergency because it can cause brain collapse, you need to have your checkup and be sure if that's a CSF or something else from whatever source like a cyst or anything!.

I hope that helps!.

Your nurse on duty,
