Problems with my Achilles tendon ?!

Question: Problems with my Achilles tendon !?
About a week and half ago I started lifting and doing cardio to get in shape!. I started slow and am currently doing half an hour of cardio a day, but last night I noticed some tightness in my achilles tendon!. Today its a little sore, pain wise maybe a 2 out of 10, so I've been taking ibuprofen and icing it every 3-4 hours!. I know this can be a serious injury if I continue to aggravate it, and I was just wondering when I can start exercising again!. Any tips you could give would be appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I partially tore my achilles tendon 4 months ago and I am still recovering from it!. So it is a very series injury!. I had the pain of 6 out of 10!. My achilles was very tight to!. To the point I could not walk!. There was so bruising of the achilles though!. I was in a boot for 6 weeks!.
You are doing the right thing about icing about every 4 hours!. Just make sure you do not do it very long like 15 to 20 minutes, no longer!. You cannot tear an achilles without bruising but you can partially tear it!. If you can walk you probably did not tear it just strained it!.
You can stretch your achilles!. Do not stretch it to the point were it hurts!. You can flex your foot and pull it back toward you!. You can also stand about a foot or a foot in a half from the wall with your feet together and lean forward toward the wall!. You should do these stretch for about 20 seconds 3-4 times a day!. If you strained it or tore it you should not exercise at all or it will cause a larger tear!.
You need to go to a doctor though and you might have to get a MRI like me to see if there is a tear!. If you tore it you will b out for about 2 months without exercising!. If you strained it depends how long you will be out probably 3 weeks maybe less if you ice and stretch it!.
You need to go to physical therapy to help you come back faster!. If you cannot go to physical therapy do things and exercises at home!.
hope I helpedWww@Answer-Health@Com

Icing the tendon is about the best thing you can do - at all costs avoid any heat treatments

I had a serious case of bilateral achilles tendonitis for two years that did not budge, despite medical treatments/physio/osteo/chiro/painkiller!.!.!. etc!.

Finally I found that in conjunction with icing a product called zen liniment, which has alot of chinese herbs in it, applied straight to the areas involved completely healed the condition in under 48 hours!. I got it from the local health food shop following advice from the fifth physiotherapist I visited to get the condition resolved!.

So at this early stage zen liniment will probably also assist you back to full function in a very short time!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
